Background
I attended Cornell University as an undergraduate and later earned my Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers University. Since the school’s founding in 1974, GSAPP has become widely recognized as a model for the education and training of direct-service psychologists.
I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become. — Carl Jung
I completed my APA accredited internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center/Bronx Psychiatric Center in New York City, followed by a one-year fellowship at the Counseling and Psychological Services Center at Princeton University. Through my education and clinical training I’ve gained significant experience working with a diverse group of clients with respect to age, gender, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation and presenting concerns. I also have specialized training in group psychotherapy.
Before becoming a psychologist I earned my JD from Cornell Law School and worked for a number of years as a lawyer in a variety of settings. In addition to my private practice, I currently work as the Assistant Director of psychological services at Georgetown University Law Center. My background affords me a particularly good understanding of the stress and challenges facing lawyers, law students, and similar professionals.
Clinical Interests
My clinical interests are varied. I work primarily with adult individuals and couples across the age spectrum, from young adult to older clients, dealing with depression, anxiety, grief reactions or trauma. I also work extensively with clients grappling with relationship, family and career issues, and with life transitions.
